JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Lead Counsel to join our dynamic team in North West Europe. As the Regional Lead Counsel, you will serve as a strategic partner to the Regional EVP in enabling informed decision-making to achieve business objectives. You will be entrusted with stewarding DEKRA's reputation and resources while ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and DEKRA management principles. Regional Lead Counsel will effectively collaborate with HQ Legal in Germany, Compliance Organization, Data Protection Organization and Sustainability group and its in-country legal colleagues to find the most effective answer for the region. You will report directly to the Regional EVP.
The job includes that you will travel regularly.
Location; Stockholm or Gothenburg.
The job is part-time 50%.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the local in-house legal counsel across the region's countries as a matrix manager with a dotted reporting line.
- Directly manage the Regional Compliance & Data Protection Officer (RCDPO)
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including tender documents, contracts, and agreements
- Manage major litigation disputes, providing robust legal advice to the Regional Management.
- Corporate Housekeeping including creation of new entities
- Define and implement legal interface activities, such as M&A and Joint Ventures.
- Safeguard the organization's intellectual property within the region.
- Act as the central point of contact for steering external insurance brokers, handle regional/local insurance policies, support regional/local business units with all insurance matters, including the issuance of insurance certificates.
- Prepare and present regular reports on regional sustainability goals, including sustainability reports, and assist in communicating these goals to both internal and external stakeholders.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Master of Law degree
- Experience with an established law firm or company.
- Experience with corporate governance issues.
- Leadership skills and experience.
- Ability to anticipate legal issues and risks proactively.
- High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and compliance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
